Upcycled Firebird Zebra Denim A-Jacket
The Upcycled Firebird Zebra Denim Jacket transforms a vintage adidas Firebird track jacket through NTMB’s approach to reconstruction and upcycling.
The original black tracksuit becomes the base for an all-over patchwork made from reclaimed blue denim scraps. Each denim piece is individually cut, positioned and sewn by hand to recreate an irregular zebra-inspired pattern across the front, back and sleeves.
The contrast between the black technical fabric, original white stripes and different shades of blue denim creates a new surface while preserving the identity and construction of the original vintage garment. Raw and frayed denim edges emphasize the handmade process behind each piece.

Craftsmanship
Every denim element is cut from reclaimed fabric scraps and individually arranged by hand to build the zebra-inspired pattern. The patches are then sewn directly onto the original vintage track jacket, creating a layered surface with exposed threads, raw edges and natural variations.
Due to the use of vintage garments and reclaimed denim, differences in wash, color, texture and patch placement are part of the design and make every piece unique.
Sustainability
Created entirely through an upcycling process, this jacket gives new life to an existing vintage garment and denim scraps that would otherwise remain unused. NTMB transforms existing materials through deconstruction and handwork, reducing the need for newly produced fabric.
